Karen Sheldon Training conducts pre-employment courses for indigenous jobseekers in the retail and hospitality sectors.  Karen Sheldon Training is an arm of the Karen Sheldon Catering company who have forged a strong reputation in the Catering and hospitality business in Darwin over the last 30 years.

Karen Sheldon Training is also a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and the training organisation is working very hard at securing a number of qualifications on scope, including certificates II and III in hospitality and Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.

How are we funded?

Karen Sheldon Training receives funding from the Australian Government Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations to conduct pre-employment courses for indigenous job-seekers.  This funding is applied for on a project by project basis with Karen Sheldon Training required under their contract to meet strict KPI's via an outcome based performance criteria.

Karen Sheldon Catering has over 30 years catering experience in the Territory and beyond.

The team comprises Karen Sheldon - founder of the Territory's Award Winning "Dolly Pot Inn" Restaurants and the "Karens Kitchens", Julie Calvert - Head Chef, Amanda Swift - Functions Manager and Sarah Hickey - Business Development Manager.
